First step towards regeneration

Animal like newts and Zebra fish can regenerate limbs, fins, even part of the heart. But human have very little regenerative capacity, probably because of an evolutionary trade-off : suppressing cell growth reduced the risk of cancer, enabling human to live longer. A person can renew his liver to same extent, and regrow a fingertip while very young, but not mach more. In a new approach , a research group at staindford University has taken a inactivating two genes that work to suppress tumours , they got mouse muscle cell to revert to a younger state , start dividing and help repair tissue. what is true of mice is often true of humans , and although scientists are a long way from being able to cause limbs to regenerate, the research is attracting attention

the first step towards quantum computer

Australian scientists at the university of wisconsin- Medison unveiled the worlds smallest electronic swichof the seven atom transistor measuring four-billionth of a metre and embeded in a single silicon crystal which will bedded in a single silicon crystal which will shrink microchips and revolutionize computing speeds. It is the first step in quantum computer which will make calculations millions of times faster than existing devices . Thetransistor was created by manipulating atams using a special microscope. The breakthrough promises to reduce the size of microchips ,which contain billions of transistor,by up to 100 times

Homo gautengensis

scientst claim to have discovered a new branch of the human family tree - a species that was light, short, and found of chewy plonts. An international team, lead by the university of new south Wales in Australia has identified and named the species Homo gautengensis. which is said to be the earliest recogniged species of homo. the identiication is based on a partial skull -known only by its museum catalogue no stw53 - along with two other partial skulls, sevaral jaws, teeth and other bones found at varias times at sterkfontein and other nearby caves

created of synthetic life

a team of scientists in the US includinng three researchers of indian origin has criated life in the laboratory. in a profound and some say provocative work the24 member teem at the privattely heald J. Crain Venter institute has created  bacterial cell that are completely  cantrol by genes manufactured in the lab the cell can multiply the successful connstruction of the first self replicating bacterial cells open the way for making and manipulating life on a previusly unattainable scale calling into question the fundamentals of creation . previosly, scintists have altered and manipulated DNA piecemeal to produce a variety of genetically engineered plant and animals. But the abillity to artificially design an entire genome the book of life that cantrols and organism fuction put a different spin to term such as creation evolution
